The Constitutional Commission begins a series of public meetings in North Side on Thursday, 7 April, at the North Side Civic Centre from 7-9pm.
The district meetings are being scheduled to allow members of the public to ask questions about and gain a better understanding of the new Constitution for the Cayman Islands.
The Constitutional Commission is charged with the responsibility of promoting understanding and awareness of the new charter and its values as a whole, states a government press release.
Meetings with key stakeholders were completed in 2010 and are included in the Commission’s first report, which is available online at www.knowyourconstitution.ky
Other district meetings for public discussions on constitutional matters are scheduled as follows:
Thursday, 14 April, East End Civic Centre
Thursday, 5 May, Bodden Town Civic Centre
Thursday, 19 May, South Sound Civic Centre
All meetings are from 7-9pm.
